On Android devices, We all uses many WiFi Network at many places Cafe, Gym, Home, friend’s house. Each time when we type a WiFi password, Android device keep saved it. And we know it’s hard to remember all WiFI password. Sometimes WiFi network started acting up (Internet stop working) and we need to choose to forget WiFi network option to fix the issue. But like Windows, you can’t view or show WiFi password Android. Sometimes we want to share our WiFI network with our second device. But if you don’t remember the password and don’t have PC then you’re out of luck.
Android doesn’t provide any official option to find WiFI password on android. But by using some apps and some cool ways you can view WiFI password. In this article am gonna provide all possible and working way that allows you to recover or show WiFi password Android.
Contents
Method 1: Show wifi password Android phone – Without ROOT.
Most of the method is only for the rooted device. Because in android there are many hidden feature and thing that you can only do after root. If you have your own WiFi Network (Home WiFI Network) then you can easily Find WiFi Password.
Note: This method will only work if your main android device is connected to that wireless network.
First, check which Wireless Router you are using, I am using TP-Link. So am going to open TP-Link admin panel. If you don’t know your wireless router name or it’s the website to access settings.
Then type the one of following address 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 on your Android Browser. Now it will ask you username and password, luckily all wireless Router comes with default username & Password which is
Username – Admin
Password – Admin
Password – Admin
Settings page of your wireless router will open, you can do many things like block mac address, WiFi password change, Bandwidth control and other things. Go to Wireless > Wireless security. Here you can see saved WiFi password without rooting your device.
Method 2: Show wifi password on Android using Apps.
On Android, there are dozens of Apps available to view or show WiFi password like WiFi password key, WiFi password recovery, WiFi password Show and Mant More. You can try any of these but all these apps required Root Access.
The Best app to Find WiFi password is “WiFi Password show”, this app is available for free on Google Play. And this app is only made for Find saved WiFi Network password.
![Download network key view for android phone Download network key view for android phone](/uploads/1/2/4/8/124875949/538915801.gif)
Get WiFi Password Show. (This is mirror App. Original WiFi Password Show App got removed from Play Store. But, this App works exactly the same.)
Download and Install this app from Google Play and Give ROOT access and it will show you all saved WiFI network password under WiFi Name.
Method 3: Show the WiFi password using Solid Explorer.
This is not the easiest method like previous, but it is an interesting way to find out WiFi Password on any Android device.
1. First, Download & Install Solid Explorer File Manager from Play Store. (Tap on Skip, after that, select “I accept the License Agreement”, and, tap on Done.)
2. Open Solid Explorer, tap on the hamburger icon (Menu Icon).
Tap on Root and Allow Root Permission. Root File Explorer now will get open.
3. Do open Data > Misc > WiFi Folder.
4. In WiFi folder, you can see WifiConfigStore.xml file. This File Store all your WiFi related information. Also, WiFi password of all previously and recently connected devices.
Tap on WifiConfigStore.xml file, select “SE Text Editor”, to open through it.
5. Now, In PreSharedKey String you will able to see WiFi password. As you can see my WiFi password in this screenshot.
Don’t make any changes in this file, you might face error if you do.
Important: It’s not compulsory to use this File Manager only. You can use ES File Explorer Pro also. Although, that is not available on the Play Store. So, I think, this is the best option.
Download Network Key View For Android Free
Method 4: View WiFi Password using Share Password.
This is not any method or app to Show WiFi Password. You can find Share WiFi Network option on many Android devices. I am using MI device and this option comes with MIUI 8. If you are also using same then go to Settings> WiFi, and you will able to see Tap to Share Password option just tap on it.
Now it will generate the QR code, now open QR code scanner in secondary mobile and scan it. You will get the WiFi name and password information. But If you don’t have any secondary mobile and want to connect the Internet to the Computer. Then simply take a snapshot of that QR code and transfer it to your PC and then scan using your own Device.
![Network Network](/uploads/1/2/4/8/124875949/362669427.png)
These are four working Method to Show wifi password Android, two are for Rooted and two for the non-rooted device. I will not recommend you to root the device and use the app or explorer because the rooting android device isn’t good for the normal user. The first method is best and 100% working method according to me give it a try.

Using WirelessKeyView
WirelessKeyView doesn't require any installation process or additional DLL files.Just copy the executable file (WirelessKeyView.exe) to any folder you like, and run it.After you run it, the main window should displayed all WEP/WPA keys stored in your computer by Windows 'Wireless Zero Configuration' service. For WEP keys, the key is also displayed in Ascii form.Be aware that this utility can only reveal the network keys stored by Windows operating system. It cannot recover network keys stored by any other third-party software.
Notice About WPA-PSK Keys
When you type a WPA-PSK key in Windows XP, the characters that you type are automatically converted into anew binary key that contains 32 bytes (64 Hexadecimal digits). This binary key cannot instantly be converted back to the original key that you typed, but you can still use it for connecting the wireless network exactly like the original key.In this case, WirelessKeyView displays this binary key in the Hex key column, but it doesn't display the original key that you typed. As opposed to Windows XP, Windows Vista doesn't convert the WPA-PSK Key that you type into a new binary key, but it simply keep the original key that you type. So under Windows Vista, the original WPA-PSK key that you typed is displayed in the Ascii key column.
Registry/File Location of The Stored Keys
Windows XP and Windows Vista stores the wireless keys in completely different locations:- Windows XP: The wireless keys are stored in the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWZCSVCParametersInterfaces[Interface Guid].
- Windows Vista: The wireless keys are stored in the file system, under c:ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvcProfilesInterfaces[Interface Guid]. The encrypted keys are stored in .xml file.
Deleting Wireless Keys Of Old Network Adapters
Starting from version 1.15 of WirelessKeyView, you can delete wireless keys/passwords of old network adapters that are no longer plugged to your computer, by using the 'Delete Selected Items' option.Be aware that this delete option only works for network adapters that are not active anymore. If your network adapter is active, use the standard user interface of Windows to delete the unwanted keys.
Export And Import Wireless Keys
Starting from version 1.50, you can select one or more wireless keys, export them into a text file by using the 'Export Selected Items' under the File menu, and then import these keys into another computer by using the'Import Keys From Export File' option. Before you start using this feature, you should be aware that there are some problems/limitations:
- The import feature only works on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or later, including Windows 7, Windows 2008, and Windows Vista. You cannot use the import feature on Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2.As opposed to the import feature, the export feature works on any system, including Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2.
- The import feature on Windows XP/SP3 is very slow, and WirelessKeyView may temporary hang during the import process.
- The wireless keys stored inside the export file are not encrypted, so if you're concerned about the security of your network, you should keep this file in a place where unauthorized users cannot read it, or simply delete it after the import process is finished.
- The import feature only works with a text file created with the 'Export Selected Items' option. You cannot use the import feature with the files created by the 'Save Selected Items' option.
- Your wireless network adapter must be active when using the import feature. If you have a USB wireless adapter, you must plug it before you start the import process.
- If you have multiple wireless network adapters, a separated key entry will be added for each adapter.
